The Last Post

Wow, I can't imagine I completed all the 10 posts within 2 days. The reason of me rushing this assignment like crazy is because my friends told me that the deadline will be on this coming Thursday! I thought it will be on the fourth week? Whatever, as long as I complete it by today and I can enjoy the holidays :)

What I want to say is thank you for reading my not-so-interesting posts, for anyone besides the lecturer. Well, I probably saying thank you to myself, since no one is reading. Ha! Thank you Google for providing so much of informations, ideas of blogging, pictures etc, and YouTube for Jayesslee's and CN Blue's videos. Thanks to our lecturer for giving me the opportunity to write, I actually enjoy it lots although it's a little bit tiring :) I'd never thought that I can blog in English because I don't really confident with it. Will try to blog more in English in the future!

Last but not least, I hope everyone's having fun and learn something new in the whole blogging process. I had a Chemistry blog during my foundation year but I already deleted it earlier because I hate it, haha! For this one, I will probably keep it and read it again after some times. Okay, I think that's all I want to say. Off to STALK others' blogs now. See you again!

Love,
See Yee :)

My Favorite Quotes

Am totally running of out idea now, I blogged 6 posts since afternoon till now and I don't know what else I can write. I think I'll just share some of my favorite quotes from Twitter. Don't really know where they were originated from, so I can't really give credits to the authors :S Anyway here we go:
  • To forgive is not to forget, nor remit, but let it go; to be lonely is not because you have no friends, but no one is living in your heart.
  • Knowledge can't replace friendship,I'd rather be an idiot than lose you,Spongebob. By Patrick Star.
  • Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
  • It's tough not to judge yourself through someone else's eyes.
  • I've learned more by not following bad examples than by following good examples.
  • To forget easily is a gift. Let go of your past mistakes. Make a fresh start." -A Moment to Remember (2004)
  • We can't change the world unless we change ourselves." -Notorious (2009)
These quotes had inspired me especially during my hard times. Hope they help in yours too ;) Thats all for the quotes, I'm moving to the very last post! Teehee~

Do You Bliv?

Another one of my favorite brand of skin care 'bliv' by Cellnique. The must-have item is the 'off with those heads' sebum gel which is extremely effective on black heads and white heads. Who else in this world is still torturing herself by squeezing those heads hardly? It is claimed that the stubborn black and white heads can be removed within 14 days painlessly, and I can tell you that the claim is true, it works really well on my black and white heads even less than a week!

Although the price is a bit expensive, it's about RM 139 for 45 ml, but it definitely worths the price. And I found that it not only works on black and white heads but also pimples! Last time I accidentally applied it on my pimple and it became smaller and disappear after 2 days application, amazing huh? =) It also controls excess oil secretion and clear clogged pores. See how amazing it is, one solution for all!

Now, let's move on to the main ingredients of the product:
Aloe Vera Extract
Research has confirmed its anti-inflammatory properties and ability in promoting wound-healing. It also helps moisturize and nourish the skin – leaving it smooth and supple.
Menthol
Menthol helps relieve skin irritation and sunburn, it have a cooling, soothing and refreshing effect on the skin as well as being a natural antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and a mild anesthetic.
Peppermint Oil
Peppermint Oil contains Menthol, which is good for skin. It gives the skin a cooling effect and assists in skin cleansing. Further it nourishes dull skin and improves oily skin, as well as aids in blackhead-whitehead removal process.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil is a popular remedy for acne and comedones (blackheads & whiteheads). It protects open pores from bacterial infection and prevents acne by killing acne causing bacteria. It also helps lessen skin inflammation, reduce skin redness; swelling and lesions.

This is the one and only product that I found which really works well on those heads. You girls should really try this lah! Haha.

Yoga

I'd joined some Yoga classes at Christofe Yoga with my bestie since last month because I found that I had grown more and more horizontal after the CNY and my immune system is like getting poorer. The BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) and Skinfold measurements which had been made in the last Nutrition and Metabolism lab session in the previous semester had totally freak me out! It's so embarrassed man, I mean the readings of the tests. That's the main reason I decided to join the yoga class.

First yoga class was killing because we joined an intermediate class due to some reasons. And now, this is the second month I involve myself in yoga classes and I can obviously feel the changes in my body. I can't even bend my legs before I join the classes but now I'm able to do so. Yoga is known to increase flexibility because it consists of postures that involve movements of different joints of the body, including those joints that are not acted upon with regular exercise routines. Besides that, yoga also massages all organs of the body. Yoga is perhaps the only exercise that can work on your internal organs in a thorough manner. This can keeps away disease and providing a forewarning at the first possible instance of a likely onset of disease or disorder.

I sweat fiercely like a pouring bucket every time I do yoga and it helps to detoxify the body. It ensures the optimum blood supply to various parts of the body. This helps in the flushing out of toxins from body as well as providing nourishment up to the last point. This leads to benefits such as delayed ageing. It is also an excellent way to tone your muscles. Muscles which are weak are stimulated repeatedly to shed excess fats and flaccidity.

So far I didn't found anything not good about yoga, except bruises on my knees and elbows due to some  postures which require us to knee down on the mat. But I believe things will get better as time goes by. I still need more practices to look extremely FIT like one of my yoga teacher Cindy :)

Psss..this is the posture which I hate the most, downward facing :S

Aww I want this so badly!

I want L'Occitane Peach Blossom perfume so badly! Introduced by a friend few months ago and I'm so in love with the velvet, sweet but yet long lasting scent. It's a fragrance that combines the scent of velvety white peaches with lemon, and bergamont with a base of musk, iris, and tonka bean. The peach blossom collection comes with other products like lip gloss, body gel, shower gel and more

Peach Blossom Scented Candle

Peachy Skin Moisture Gel

Peach Blossom Shower Polishing Nectar

The prices are reasonable too! My friend bought the collection which consists of shower gel, fragrance and body scrub with the price of RM 200 only!!! Too bad the hot deal was only available when it was first launched. I'm going to grab it anyway, see how much I adored by the scent! Believe me, you will addict to the scent once you try it, haha!

Chilled watermelon soup?!

Yes, I'm gonna post something weird and probably no one dares to try it out, even a watermelon-lover like me. You may probably ask how can a fruit be added into the soup and it's even chilled? Well, I was wondering the same question as everyone does until I look into the recipe. It's really not as weird as I'd thought after all. Let's take a look together and see how it works :)

Chilled Watermelon Soup

INGREDIENTS
  • 6 pounds yellow or red seedless watermelon, diced (9 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup lightly sweet white wine (such as Riesling) or 3/4 cup water mixed with 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chopped ginger
  • 8 teaspoons crumbled feta
  • 1/4 cup sparkling wine (or sparkling water)

DIRECTIONS
Combine 1 cup of the watermelon with mint and sugar in a bowl. Set aside. Blend remaining 8 cups watermelon, lemon juice, wine, and ginger in a blender until smooth. Let sit 1/2 hour. Strain soup; divide among 8 bowls. Top each with 1/8 cup reserved watermelon and 1 teaspoon feta.

Simple enough, it does not involved the tedious steps like what we have in preparing the Chinese traditional soups. And do you realize that it's totally oil- and meat-free? This is another healthier choice and suitable to be served during hot days like now. Yeah, I'm gonna tell mama about this!

First Step

Hey folks, I'm here to introduce my recent favorite music album, CN Blue first album 'First Step'. CN Blue is a Korean boy band consists of 4 members (Yong Hwa, Jung Shin, Jung Hyun and Min Hyuk),  which have  debuted in Korea a little over a year ago. After all that time, a full length album has finally come out, much to the delight of fans 'BOICEs' and K-pop lovers! My favorite songs in the album are 'Intuition', 'Imagine', 'Love comes in the rain', 'Just please', 'Ready N go' and 'LOVE girl', actually I love all the songs but the songs listed above are my favorite of favorite :D Here's a live performance of 'Intuition' by the boys. Enjoy!

MiniTool

Wonder what the title's about? It's about something boring but useful =) Since this is an IT assignment blog, then I think I shall write some IT-related stuffs. Here we go!

Have you ever heard about MiniTool? It's okay if you don't know what it is, I'm gonna tell you now :D MiniTool is actually a data recovery software that can restore deleted files and folders from Windows Recycle Bin, as well as from external hard disks, memory card, USB flash drive, CD/ DVD/ Blue-Ray Disk and even iPod. It comes with five different modules which recover data from different conditions. Here's a brief summary of the five modules and their functions:
  1. Undelete recovery - recover files and folders emptied from the Windows Recycle Bin.
  2. Damaged partition recoveryrecovering data from damaged or formatted partitions
  3. Lost partition recovery - recover data after partition loss or deletion. (User may accidentally delete an important partition or when reinstall Windows to hard drive)
  4. Digital media recovery - recover deleted data like photos, music and video from digital media, for example: Flash drive, memory card, and iPod.
  5. CD & DVD recoveryrecover data from CD & DVD disks. It is designed specifically to recover lost and deleted files from damaged, scratched or defective CD and DVD disks.
From my previous experience, I did actually stored up to thousands photos in a DVD because my laptop was running of of spaces. But it ends up with nothing stored inside the DVD when I reopened the disk few months later. Don't you think this is saddening? All of the photos taken during my vacations and other precious moments were lost! I googled it and found that this problem may arise if low quality disks are used. So, never even store important data in low quality CD/ DVD! Until I found MiniTool, the module I've used was CD & DVD recovery. Simply put the defected disk into your CD/DVD driver in your pc and run Minitool, choose the appropriate module and wait patiently for it to be recovered! Simple enough, isn't it? And the most important thing is it's totally FOC!! So this is my most recommended recovery software for the 'unfortunate ones'. With MiniTool, data loss is not a big deal after all. Hope this is useful :)

Who wants macarons?

Love sweet? Check out the burger-like, French cream-filled sandwich cookie macarons! Macarons are a French sandwich-like pastry with two-thin cookies and a cream in between. The macarons are a simple combination of ground almonds, egg whites, and sugar. They have crispy crusts and chewy-moist on the interior, these treats need no filling to be absolutely delicious.

They come with different colors and flavors. Mouth-watering huh? :)

My dad actually bought me some macarons from Natalie's Gourmet Studio and it tastes like HEAVEN! I personally dislike the pink macaron (see below) because it tastes like Lovely Lace. It's the flavor of rose by  the way.

Here is it! I can't really recognize all of the flavors, for me they were all taste like ginger :p

For your information, Natalie's Gourmet Studio does offer some cooking classes like macaron-making courses. Well, a typical college student like me is very lazy busy and I bet the fees will cost me a bomb! Okay so plan A failed. Saw a strawberry macarons recipe  from Croissant & Parmesan, very tempting! I wonder why there is no watermelon-flavored macaron in this world, nobody will do that except me! (For your information, Imma watermelon freak :) So here's my plan B: To DIY watermelon macaron during FREE TIME.

And so, here's the recipe of strawberry macarons, you guys should really try it out!

Strawberry macaron

Ingredients for the macarons shells (around 30-40 macarons):
  • 200 g dried almonds powder
  • 200 g confectioners’ sugar (or ice sugar)
  • 200 g sugar in powder
  • 2 * 75 g eggwhites
  • 50 ml water
  1. Put the almonds and confectioners’ sugar together in the blender and mix. This «pasta» is called the tant pour tant (TPT) because there is as much as sugar as almonds powder. Reserve in a bowl.
  2. In a pot pour 160 g of sugar in powder, add the water but do not mix. Bring to a temperature of 115°C.
  3. Meanwhile beat the eggwhites (75 g) with the remaining sugar until stiff (the mix should be consistant but not too much, just avoid the beaten eggwhites form a beak)
  4. Still beating the eggwhite, pour the boiling sugar. Mix until the temperature reaches down 40°C (or no temperature sensation on your finger). This process (2 to 4) is the so called meringue italienne.
  5. At that moment add the remaining eggwhites (the unbeaten ones) to the TPT. Mix gently. Add a third of the meringue to make it more supple. Mix gently and add the rest of the meringue. Mix softly. The final TPT should be quite soft but not liquid (literally it has to do a ribbon)! a tip from tartelette : Test a small amount of pasta on a plate: if the tops flattens on its own you are good to go. If there is a small beak, give the batter a couple of turns.
  6. Fill a pastry bag with a piping nozzle of size 6 or 8 (diameter in mm). Pip small rounds onto parchment paper. Space the shells (coques) by 2 cm at least (as seen in the following picture). Let them sit out at least 15-20 mns
  7. Meanwhile warm up the oven at 150°C.
  8. After 15-20 mns, put the macarons in the oven for 12-15 mns, depending of the size (1 parchement paper at a time or the shells break). Let cool before removing.
Strawberry ganache
  • 300 g of white chocolate
  • 300 g strawberryies
  1. Slice finely the white chocolateand reserve in a bowl.
  2. Wash and clean the strawberries. Put them in a pot and mix into a purée.
  3. Over low heat  ccok the purée (makesure it does not boil!)
  4. Sieve the purée over the chocolate and mix gently.
  5. Refrigerate the strawberry ganache for at least 3 hours(it takes quite a time to get thick)
  6. When it is cold and consistant, fill a pastry bag with the ganache
  7. Pipe the ganache on the center of the shell and top with another one (if you don’t put enough ganache the shells will dry!)
  8. Keep the macarons in the fridge for a couple of hours
Recommendation:
-Do a preliminary test by putting only 5-6 shells in the oven. If you have trouble removing the shells after the cooking then let themc ook a little more. If they are cracked decrease the oven’s temperature.
-Also if you want to avoid to do the macaron shells with the meringue italienne, more difficult, go see the blog of tartelette, she explains pretty well how to do macarons shells with simple meringue.

Jayesslee

Frankly speaking, I rarely listen to English songs because my impression towards them is not that good. No offense but I think the tempo of most English songs are either too fast or too slow, not my cup of tea :p Until I found these two girls, Janice and Sonia. The 23-year-old Korean twins were born and raised in Sydney, Australia, which have great passion on singing. Watched few video clips of them on YouTube and I can't help falling in love with their beautiful voices!  Here are some of my favorites, enjoy!
